How much time is required to study all the syllabus of the CA final course for the first time reader?

 A Final course is vast as compared to other courses and exams.

I appeared my CA Finals in May 17 and Right from the starting, I used to measure preparation time hours wise.

So, Time taken varies between subject to subject and professor to professor. i.e. For FR, Prasad sir takes almost 200 hours whereas Parveen sir takes around 400 hours. Similarly, there is huge variation between BB Sir and VG sir for Direct Tax coaching.

This variation is basically due to more practice and in depth conceptual teaching and because of study material which you use.

Now, Suppose we need to know Total hours required to study FR (Financial Reporting) for the first time.

So, as per my analysis, an ideal student might need anywhere between 220 to 250 hours for completing FR subject on his own through self study once. The material to be used here is ICAI Modules i.e. Study Material (SM) and Practice Manual (PM).

So, if you start studying FR at least 3 hours daily, then you can complete entire FR once in almost 75 days which is around 2.5 months.

Reading Theoretical concepts

Reading entire AS and Ind AS theory

Solving SM Illustrations

Solving PM question
